Chinese Medical Theory: Treatment Modalities
David A.
Dawson, Ph.D., L.Ac.
The phrase 'treatment modalities' refers to the different options available for patient care. This section of the website gives a slightly more academic presentation of these treatment options, their underlying theory, and how they are used. It is laid out as follows:
Acupuncture | the theory and practice of acupuncture. |
Herbal Medicine | the theory and practice of herbs. |
Analysis of a Common Formula | for those who are interested, a more in-depth presentation about herbal medicine. |
Other Modalities | information on tui na, Qi gong, nutrition, moxa, cupping, and other approaches. |
It is hoped that, for those with a deeper interest in these matters, these pages will go some way to making more accessible the underlying theory, and its implementation in practice, of Chinese medicine.
